1) I like car rides at night. The rain and the smell that precedes it in the spring. The swings. And the exact moment where the feet come off the ground. The slow and hot shower in the evening. And the mornings when his eyes are still claiming five minutes of twilight.
2) I find it absolutely irresistible polka dots. And the champagne.
3) I cannot sleep with the window closed, even in January. I cannot leave the fingernails and toenails without two layers of nail polish. I cannot stop singing in the car. I cannot stand people who complain of heat and cold, sun and rain, of this city that looks like a big country of too much work.
4) Love the boredom of Sunday afternoon, the coziness and the silence, old movies and little treats.
5) I love working out. The seemingly fragile arms being pumped up with blood. Feeling alive.
6) I collect lipsticks I never wear. Cups. Photographs. And emotions.
7) The attention to detail is something that excites me: the innate grace of certain people in the door – the charm that is not possible to perform.
8) I’m greedy, or even more. For the macaroons. Though I much prefer cheese: brie and parmesan, roquefort and feta.
9) If I had to, or I could, I would choose to leave a bit of soul in New York, one in Paris, one in Athens. The last I take with me to feel at home everywhere, and everywhere.
10) I love men but I adore women: those females who know how to be courageous in their lives and their dreams. And I also have an unbounded admiration towards mothers, all.
So are we that different?
Tell me! Something you ARE? Something. Anything. Random.
Happy Monday, cupcakes! As always with love, Greta.

Merci beaucoup, mademoiselle. 😉

I share your love of brie, and also have a huge collection of largely unused lipsticks, glosses and shimmers. One random fact about me: I love 1970s horror films, especially Dario Argento!
Greta said:
Now I must see Dario Argento! I’m the biggest fan of classics – movies, books, clothes – timeless 😉

Lovely!
I think I would leave a bit of my soul in NY, London and Paris.
I too collect Makeup and nail polish, my nails haven’t been unpolished in nearly 20 years (I’m 31).
Random facts…hm, I want to get back to my ballet and horseback riding.
Greta said:
Oh, we are polishing our nails quite for the same amount of time 😀 Can you imagine going anywhere bare nails? I bet you can’t 🙂
Ballet and horse riding – jealous of both!

Very alike!!! Window open, yes. Love for details, yes. Cities….. New York, Berlin, San Diego, Florence. Cheese – Gruyère and Parmesan! A random fact….. I am a certified massage therapist!
Greta said:
San Diego? You’ve surprised me here, hon 😀 Now I have to go, to see what’s in there!
And you are massage therapist?! Gosh, you are like a super girl! Is there anything you can’t do? 😉
dinkerson said:
Yes, I remember how you are with those macaroons. You said you’d share but you were out of those. Lol 😉
These images are great. And a great list too.
Greta said:
Haha! I’m always out of macaroons. 😀
And thanks for the great words!

Actually i`d rather name differences between us- well i hate lipsticks….honestly, im weirdo…
You`re very pretty x gosh i`ve got a feeling i have seen you in LT…could it be possible? By the way im from Vilnius…..
Greta said:
Aww, do you miss Vilnius? Do you visit here often? I’m in the city for already 20 years or so, but I’ve lived here sporadically as I’m the master of changes – I’ve traded it for some London, Athens and even Paris in the past. And I’m already thinking of moving…
Lipsticks – I never wear them. Ever. But I just buy those!! Don’t ask me why 😀

I love how you sneaked in a glimpse of “fifty shades of grey” in there. LOVED that book! (What girl doesn’t, honestly). Also, I’ve left a little bit of myself in Paris, and Athens as well- where I was lucky enough to leave it there twice! Now off to NYC for the week… (I leave tomorrow!). We’ll see if I can split myself up some more 🙂

Greta said:
Still so jealous of NYC. And I hope you have a blast there!!
Fifty!!?? I can’t believe I’m reading it again! I swear. I’ve read all three books in English and now I’m reading it again in Lithuanian (that’s what I actually speak) Crazy crazy, I know!! 😀

LOVE that cut-out skirt!! And yes; windows open. And yes; Cheese. Fave? Peccorino. With some grapes on the side. Mmhmm!
Something I am? Full. Haha! The sun is out (first day of spring is BLISS) so I had a humongous bowl of vanilla-bean ice cream with fresh cinnamonloaf after lunch. Too much, so good. Me = a happy camper 😉
Greta said:
Love your comment. The spirit. The month of positivity did you good, sweetie! Peccorino? I have to have it. Now. I hope I can find it today in the market!

It’s soooo good. I think you’ll like it because you mention some other very salty cheeses in your list!!

Oh my gosh i can’t sleep with the window closed either ! I always keep them open even in the winter. there is also something about car rides that make me so happy
Greta said:
Yes! Especially the car rides! Those are somehow relaxing. Do you listen to music or sing or prefer the silence?
SweatyGirl said:
Beautiful post, as always! I just love seeing a glimpse of who you truly are inside.
Hmm, about me? I love driving a convertible car, because it feels just like swinging on the swings on a playground.
I love depraved and disgusting horror movies. I love fruit with a fervor that cannot be tamed! 🙂
Greta said:
Aww, the convertible! I’m so jealous. I bet it really feels like being on swings. And the disgusting horror movies?? This one is a complete surprise for me from a fruit lover! I guess we all have some secret crushed no one else understands 😉

I feel very spoilt, I love summer fruit, down under, where I live grows the sweetist rockmelon! yum! I also love watching the stars on a clear night! Sending positive thoughts, hopefully to disagree with those neg. monster thoughts….lol
Greta said:
Oh, you seem the sweetest! Loving animals and fruit and horse riding and watching stars! Are you a princess? 😀
Thank you for this lovely reply.

I am the same way about my nail polish, ha! Loved reading every bit of this. I think I will write a similar post this week. 🙂

I love being in the backseat of the car, driving through the night lights. Takes me to different places, from when my parents used to take me on long drives in the middle of the night when I was a baby, to the drive across Anzac Bridge in Sydney, staring at the lights of the city. I can’t put a name to this feeling that I have, it’s neither nostalgia or pure excitement. But it adds a spark to my life, which is a feeling I usually don’t get and the whole thing kind of makes me tear up a little – almost makes me wish I never had an ED, so I could take it all in without having “it” in the back of my head.
I love this post, Greta, you’re truly a delightful and lovely person 🙂 Also, that yummy dessert alongside Fifty Shades! It looks amazing!! You have to tell me what it was made of 😀
Greta said:
OMG, I initially wrote “I love taxi rides at night!” Because I get that feeling you’ve described so precisely. But I remembered that I don’t do it since I moved into suburbs. Now I have to drive myself which is also cool, but not the same as in the backseat 😉
That simple “dessert” is just greek yogurt with some sugar free raspberry syrup and home made granola. In layers. Nothing special, really 😉
Asuma said:
Hehe, your “nothing special” sure does look very very pretty though! I’m really going to try to assemble my food better now 😛
Greta said:
Oh, food must be pretty and you do that better than me – I’ve seen your food! 😉

Greta you are just beautiful. I absolutely love drives late at night.. I wish we could meet & go on a road trip during the night!!
Greta said:
OMG! The taxi night drive would be a blast. So we could chat whatever and not care about the road… One day, we could do that.. maybe 😉

Greta, You and I are so different in so many ways. I think that is why I like your blog because it is so girly and I am so not. Collection of lipsticks? I have a collection of chapsticks. At least some of them are tinted for when I get “dressed up”. I have three girls. I am not sure why I was blessed with them. I so wanted boys because I relate so much better to boys. Until I was an adult I struggled with girlfriends. But I could always hang out with the guys happily. Now I am stuck shopping (I hate shopping!) But my girls are amazing creatures who have taught me so much. Details? They get me every time! I am much better with the big picture/big and new ideas. I need someone else to help me with those pesky details! But…. we do have one thing in common. I love working out too. I love that feeling of accomplishment and strength I have once it is done. One random thing about me? We just rescued 4 baby kittens who were abandoned by their mother. My husband earns the “best hubby” award because he doesn’t like cats (we have 2 dogs already) but is feeding them like a champ. And deals with my breakdowns because I don’t do well with no sleep.
Greta said:
OMG! Your girls sound wonderful, but your husband – man, he is a keeper!! 4 kittens!! I had hard time with one, now we have two and yes – no sleep, lots of fun and chewed up things.
And I’m happy that we are different, but you are here, following me along and telling me about the life I do crave – the children and amazing husband, and all those workouts… So maybe we aren’t after all so much different. 😉
livliveslife said:
You’re such an incredible writer. And it’s fun learning some random things about you! I think #4 was my favorite: you’re right about boredom of Sunday afternoons, but also right in that it isn’t necessarily a bad thing to be bored. It leaves more time for the relaxing, good parts of life. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!!
Greta said:
Thank you, Liv. You are so sweet. As I say, we aren’t so different after all, though I will never be such an incredible cook as you are. You are talented!
Kath said:
Oooohhh I enjoyed reading these things about you! Well, we’re definitely different when it comes to nail polish because I never use it. 😀 And the cheese, of course. 😛 To the other things I can relate, however I think I wouldn’t want to leave pieces of my soul anywhere. I usually don’t have the feeling of being at home, at least not with regard to places. But I feel at home with certain people.
Greta said:
Some of my friends and my bf even – don’t get me on the nail polish. Yeah, I’m kind of obsessed!
And I get you on HOME! Love being here more than anywhere.. or with the certain people as well 😉
